Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and oversee implementation of the SNAP-Ed work plan in accordance with USDA SNAP-Ed and Maine DHHS guidance.
- Oversee training on the implementation of policy, systems, and environmental (PSE) change strategies in coordination with the SNAP-Ed direct education programming.
- Oversee the implementation of and provide technical assistance for PSE change strategies by Nutrition Educators and SNAP-Ed staff at all subrecipient locations.
- Ensure reporting and data collection processes for the PSE strategies are completed in a timely and accurate manner by the Nutrition Educators in accordance with the SNAP-Ed grant contract.
- Assure that grant deliverables and expectations are met as set by USDA SNAP-Ed, Maine DHHS and UNE.
- Coordinate the exploration and identification of new initiatives and opportunities for the SNAP-Ed program, ensuring the programs implemented in Maine are evidence-based, current with strategies nationwide and engage the target audience.
- Assist in coordinating all SNAP-Ed training programs and UNE SNAP-Ed regional learning collaborative meetings in conjunction with other SNAP-Ed staff.
- Oversee the delivery of appropriate social marketing (SM) strategies, including the development of social media messages, to reinforce key messages in accordance with approved USDA SNAP-Ed, Maine DHHS and UNE guidelines.
- Assist in coordination and implementation of the State Nutrition Action Council (SNAC).
- Manage partner relationships including statewide partners on the SNAC and partners whose missions align with PSE and/or SM strategies for Maine SNAP-Ed.
- Participate on SNAP Ed management team and assist in management decisions related to PSE and SM strategies.
- Provide SNAP-Ed evaluation team with PSE and SM content expertise and support development of evaluation plans and activities.
- Develop and lead the PSE and SM content writing for SNAP-Ed monthly, annual, and final reports as well as the annual plan submitted to USDA FNS each August.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Masters of Public Health degree and 5 to 7 years of relevant experience with implementation of nutrition and/or physical activity, and/or community health initiatives required; or a combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills are acquired.
- Demonstrate clear and effective communication skills with groups and individuals including verbal, written, and group presentations.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
