Maine Public Health Association is pleased to announce this year's Public Health Award winners! We hope you will join us on Thursday, June 6th from 4:30pm to 7:00pm at Maple Hill Farm in Hallowell to celebrate their achievements and contributions to public health!
Awards Ceremony tickets are $35, and include dinner/non-alcoholic beverages. There will be a cash bar. Registration is required. If this ticket price is prohibitive, please let us know.
We are offering table sponsorships! For $350, organizations (or individuals) can reserve a table (seats 8). Table sponsors can also bring marketing materials to share at the event. If you're interested in this opportunity, or others (see below), please email Becca, MPHA's Executive Director.
Award Winners:
Presidents' Award - This award is MPHA's highest honor. Nominations are solicited and vetted by MPHA past presidents. Patty Hamilton
Ruth S. Shaper Memorial Award - This award recognizes an individual who has made a significant contribution in the area of public health. Kristine Pleacher
Public Health Program of Excellence Award - This award recognizes effective, efficient, evidence-based and creative public health programs in Maine. Maine Association for the Deaf Website
Unsung Hero Award - This award recognizes an individual, department or organization who has positively influenced public health in Maine from behind the scenes. Jane Field
Phebe Conrey King Access to Healthcare Award - This award recognizes an individual or individuals who have made a significant contribution to improving access to healthcare in Maine. Mary Prybylo
Pamela M.B. Studwell Tobacco Policy Award - This award is given to an individual whose dedication, persistence, and passion for improving lives has significantly advanced best practice tobacco policies in Maine. Hilary Schneider
Public Health Policy Champion Award - This award recognizes a policymaker (municipal, state or federal) who has made a significant contribution to public health in Maine. Senator Eloise Vitelli
Public Health Journalism Award - This award recognizes a journalist who has made a significant contribution to public health in Maine. Amy Harris
Public Health Business Champion Award - This award recognizes a business for its leadership and commitment to integrating and promoting public health values into business practices. Wild Oats Bakery & Cafe
Public Health Rising Star Award - This award recognizes a young professional (<40 years old) in Maine who has made a significant contribution to public health in Maine. Eisha Khan
